Fruit Trees

Thursday, Nov. 20

“The best argument for Christianity is Christians; the best argument against Christianity is Christians.” How true! Most Christians are Christians because someone demonstrated how God can change a bad life into a good life. From sinner to saint. From a rebel to a servant. From hell bound to heaven bound. Conversely, how many people refuse to enter a church because of a Christian who shows no evidence of a changed life, people who are labeled hypocrites, rightly so. Granted, sometimes the accusation is false, either innocently unfounded or as an excuse, but there are too many people that claim Christ as their savior who don’t show it by the way they live. And no doubt there are people who think they are Christians, but are not. These pseudo Christians need a serious check up. Mt. 7:18, 20 says “A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit . . . Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.” I hope none of my readers are in this position, but if you are, please do something about it. You are a blight on Christianity and on Christ Himself. For the rest of us, a bit of a check up might be in order, too. Here’s a key question. When an acquaintance views your life, to what extent are they drawn to Christ?
