Celebrating Human Love

Saturday, Feb. 14

Today is Valentine’s Day. In case you haven’t noticed, I’ve had a series of blogs about love leading up to this day—a day to celebrate human love. I’m not overly excited about this particular holiday. It doesn’t compare to Christmas or Easter. But there’s value in meditating on this thing called love, a gift of God which is so basic to human relationships. Maybe you could re-read the previous ten blogs and then try to make this day really special for others, both those you love and others that maybe need a little extra love in their lives. For those that have spouses, do something really special for them. Don’t settle for a card or even a gift. DO something that will delight them. I guarantee that you will be the richer for it, which I believe was God’s intent when he created us. This may lead you to want to celebrate in the same way more than once a year! Have a lovely day!
