My Ruby

Tuesday, June 28

My wife’s birthday!  Please accommodate me and let me share a few moments of deep appreciation for this gift from God.  I want to start with Jeremiah, which probably seems a bit queer.  Jeremiah lamented the day of his birth.  He said in Jer. 20:14 “Cursed be the day on which I was born.”  After reading about what he went through, I guess I can allow him a little venting.  But for me, I am glad I was born and glad that I had godly parents to push me in the right direction.  And then there is Elizabeth, the joy of my life.  I revere the day she was born.  And every day since her birth, God was preparing her for me—and me for her.  She was shaped by godly parents as well as a loving God.  She has enriched my life more than I can put into words.  She has served me way beyond anything I deserve.  She is so special, so precious.  I call her my ruby.  Proverbs 3:15 and 31:10.  Thank you for indulging me.
